Volunteering

Management Committee

North Yorkshire PACT exists to support families of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We are a growing voluntary organisation run by a management committee of volunteer parent carers and supported by a part time paid member of staff based at the Community First Yorkshire.

Volunteer Opportunities

There are a number of other jobs that could be done by volunteers and we are always looking for enthusiastic people to help with these.

For example:

  • Website updates
  • Designing promotional materials
  • Attending meetings on behalf of the wider Parent Forum Network
  • Helping us with our Facebook/Twitter pages or other forms of Social media
  • Becoming part of the Management Committee

Being involved with NYPACT can take up as much or as little time as you want so if you have some time and the desire to help change things please contact us for an informal chat.

Representation

North Yorkshire PACT are asked to sit in on a number boards & meeting including;

  • Parent Partnership Steering Group
  • Children’s Trust Board
  • SEND Steering Group - which include the following work strands; Finance & Commissioning, Act Implementation, Inclusive Schools
  • North Yorkshire & York Autism Strategic Partnership
  • SEND Strategy Development 2015-18

Representing other parents is a big part of our role and we need more parents to get involved in this really key area of our work. We are also in the process of linking up with support groups and organisations across North Yorks to feed this information more widely.

Become a Trustee

Being an NYPACT trustee does not have to be time consuming - you can take on as much or as little as you wish.

We are looking for new ideas and skills to help us grow as we become a registered charity and apply for future funding.
